KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese New Year national Open House will be held at
Pavilion Bukit Bintang on
Feb 7.

A Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry statement said the gathering, which was expected to attract 50,000 people, would be in the form of a street festival with the theme “Unity through Festivity.”
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is expected to greet visitors.
The ministry said the site was chosen due to its prominence in the city, which attracted many local and foreign tourists, with the area also easily accessible by public transport.
The main event will start from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, while the people’s performances will run from 10.30pm till midnight.
The performances will include lion dances, a drumming show by multiracial performers, stiltwalkers and a tanglung performance. An exhibition on calligraphy will also be held. The artistes slated to perform at the festival include Fauziah Latiff, Den Bisa and Lee Mau San. Those intending to come have been advised to use public transport to get there.
